All the ambraces gained THAT day should be removed
not the whole guildwars world reset that would be punishing all the players

Gaile any update on which course of action u guys are taking? Wouldn't be smart for people to be playing now if you were to be doing a rollback of [insert time frame]. And I think a rollback for the moment when this thread was created is a viable option, because they want to get rid of them fast.

well the ones that have really been hurt by this are people that have trade legit items for these armbraces....either way you go they are screwed. the common people such as myself ....it really doesn't affect since this type of money and items are normally out of our league....but for the high end players...the legit ones...it sucks.

Wow lol..this will not get rid of them, I'm assuming this has been going on for over a month, and that would be a pretty lenient assumption.

If Anet has the ability to roll back a month,i doubt they will.I don't think they are stupid enough to do that, too many people would quit/cry on forums imo.

On the bright side this does mean i was 100% correct at the start of this thread
It HAS been going on for way longer than 1 month, it has nothing to do with DoA and people just recently got way too greedy and started duplicating Armbraces.
Problem is theres probably quite alot of lesser things that have been duped for personal gain... put 1750 Creme Brules into a trade window and duplicate them a few times, entire account has Conoisseur. Duplicate a few r8 Crystallines your account has a full set of them and your Koss can suck in style. Copy a few lots of Ectos/Shards and your account gets FoW.
Obviously someone just got greedy and stupid recently... whose to say the others using it weren't more careful.

Should I laugh or cry now? It took me a fricken month of in-game working (merchanting, farming) to obtain all the gemsets for an armbrace and now ppl get 150 armbraces for a stupid minipet. It feels so unfair...
PS. Nothing against you personally TiNkLeR, but this software error just sucks.

It's probably been said before, but he more oppinions the better, aye... The best idea in my opinion is the following.
- Like Passive Keke said, create a new item, say, the Necklace of Truth.
- From now on, all Armbraces of Truth are completely useless.
- Tormented Weapons can be acquired by handing over a Necklace.
- A new quest is added, like with 'Money Back Guarantee'. This involves bringing the quest giver 1 Armbrace of Truth. As a reward, you recieve one Necklace of Truth.
- This way, people that have acquired teir Armbrace by hard work and saving will not have done it for nothing.
- The people that have duped 100's of Armbraces are stuck with useless items.
The only flaw imo being is that people who have acquired more then one Armbrace the legal way are stuck with it... But otherwise it's as fair as I can imagine.

Hello.
Just a quick reminder to all the dupers out there, this is what the Guild Wars EULA clearly says about messing around with us honorable players.
Direct quote from GuildWars.com:
Quote:
Permanent Account Terminations
Obviously, we do not terminate the accounts of Guild Wars players without cause. We exercise careful judgment in every case of an account termination, and we will use the mark system instead of outright account termination if that seems sufficient to address the misbehavior. However, we will review breaches of the Rules of Conduct and the User Agreement with close attention to the most flagrant forms of rules abuse. In instances like these, particularly when we perceive a risk of substantial real or potential harm to the Guild Wars community or to the game's stability, an account can and will be permanently terminated.
|
*EDIT* This also goes to all of you who KNOW you have been trading with dupers. Doing so creates, just as the rules says, a substantial real or potential harm to the community.
So before you go back to Guild Wars, thinking that you can get away from this. Remember, A-Net has logs. A-Net has SQL. A-Net has a permanent account termnation for you.
And to all of those who deny you are duping, stop it. We know you are. A-Net has helpers.

People talking about a rollback for 'just a couple of days' please calm down real fast.
This exploit has been possible for ages, it seems, and what impact has it had on the average player? Answer: NONE AT ALL.
What impact would a rollback, any kind of rollback, whether a hour, a day, a month have on the average player? HUGE IMPACT.
The main impact would be to utterly destroy confidence that GW is worth investing any time in. With no new campaigns for a year, and the introduction of HM, the game is a lot about grind. Now you want A-Net to press a key and wipe away people's achievements?
Just as an example:
This weekend, with the festival re-run, my PC spent 45 hours connected to GW getting from Lucky 1 to Lucky 3 (for a poxy 4% lockpick retention benefit). I spent the whole weekend sitting on 9 rings grabbing fesitval prizes and, after these fesitval prizes had dried up, I went and maybe put in 10-15 hours' Hard Mode farming with my 55 monk to raise cash to keep buying festival tickets so I could get up over 300,000 on Lucky before the festival finished.
Basically I have spent the whole weekend in front of the PC and already felt like an idiot for ignoring the real world, but I justified it to myself that it was a festival and these things only happen a handful of times a year and the opportunity must be used, and in the long term I would benefit from the grind investment (I certainly didn't have 'fun'….just the grim satisfaction that comes from sustained grind…fun is for another day).
Now, shortsighted people are saying that due to some scam that affects 0.001% of the GW community, people like me should have their weekend's efforts erased. Well, let's just say that it will be the end of GW and GW:EN for me, and a huge host of ordinary players. The vast majority of us don't play DOA and have never seen a tormented weapon anyway and - for the benefit of anyone that wants to see them - check them out on wiki. They are totally fugly and have the stats of something that can be made for free by picking up bits and pieces that drop when you kill any old monsters.
This is madness. ANY KIND OF ROLLBACK WILL KILL GW FOR VERY MANY PEOPLE. DO NOT DO IT.
I think that Gaile needs to come on here or somewhere and state categorically that A-Net are not going to rollback over this. Already everyone in my guild is saying don't play GW until this is confirmed - you're wasting your time, they're going to rollback everything we do, blah. In times of crisis we need the government (A-Net) to communicate properly and build confidence. A-Net please communicate now that you are not going to rollback. The longer this goes on without communication, the more damage is done to confidence. What's the point of anyone playing at all with the threat of rollback over them?

Option 2) Payed 100K + 60Ecto's plus for it
Person C: Ha ha ha ha noob lol i got this tormented sword + shield for 50k both sucker
